DIY rice water Toner

I’m not a big fan of summer, my skin gets more oily, I sweat more easily and I get more tan. But, here’s an easy easy DIY toner that everyone can make! I love my Rice Toner and use it almost everyday to just give my face a splash of cold water and keep myself cool. My mother taught me this trick but I never really used rice water as my toner until last year. Now, every time I cook rice I always keep a huge bowl of rice water for myself. Some benefits of Rice Water Rice Water is used to brighten up your skin and keep it smooth. It can also heal acne and as it brightens your skin, lighten up your hyperpigmentation also. Rice Water is very common in Asia, no wonder people in Vietnam have such wonderful skin! Make it yourself 1) Start off with some uncooked rice (do not use the instant kind) and a cup of water. I am using organic jasmine rice. 2) Pour the water into the …

Blogger Tutorial | Easy Header + Make a Pattern

I never even thought about doing a post like this until Christina  asked me for a tutorial on my “header & widgets”. This post will be photoshop based, but don’t worry! If you guys don’t have photoshop just simply go to the end and seek out the other tutorials I have compiled for you ; they use Pixlr or Picmonkey. Here is my favorite place to grab anything I can (from brushes, to graphics, to backgrounds) :  Deviantart. Use it, use it, use it! Your life will change.. for the better. To see some brushes or things I get from there, simply check my Credit page! My Example Background  Now, you need to know your header dimensions. How do you check that? Simply, go to Dashboard > APPEARANCE (That paintbrush tool) > Header. It should list the dimensions. D.I.Y Aloe Vera Mask

I like Aloe Vera; unsurprisingly I use it more during the summer than any other season. Why? Because I am prone to sunburns! If you’ve been forgetting your sunscreen and need something to help soothe those red rashes or burns, then Aloe Vera is perfect for you. It’s no wonder many companies sell Aloe Vera “Aftersun” Gel. So, how is Aloe Vera great for your skin? Aloe vera has plenty of vitamins, etc but for the purpose of this post I will focus only on its skin benefits. It’s great for healing burns or scars; relieves itching and soothes skin (which is why it’s used to treat sunburns), and it’s also 99% water so that means its very moisturizing for your skin! It also reduces inflammation.  I was tired of all the other Aloe Vera gels that I was buying, it had too many chemicals in it and didn’t work as well – so luckily my parents began to plant Aloe Vera in our backyard!  I actually have some more in the front yard. Here is 3 next …

DIY: Home Office Inspiration!

I used to believe that I wanted to spend the rest of my life having a job that required me to walk around and basically not be stuck in a cubicle all day. I said that, partly because at a young age I was taught by teachers and my peers that having an office job was “boring”; a job where my life would slowly waste away (sorry to all those who have office jobs!!). But, now that I am older… I realized that I want an office job. I love writing, typing away at the computer and planning ideas on a story board. Writing at a computer and doing research relaxes me… whether I’m typing an essay or writing a romantic comedy. Of course, gathering ideas by taking a walk in the park is great also.  Here are some home office ideas that I found off Pintrest, hopefully one day I will have a home office of my own (unless my parent’s wish of me being a nurse wins).    The thing I love about this little makeshift home …

My boyfriend bought everything we needed for the date sticks… and we put it together! We actually lost this but are planning on making it again.  You pair up the colors with how expensive the date was. Red and purple- $$$ (Things we had to get dressed up for, spending the night at a hotel, bed and breakfast.) Orange Green and Blue: $$ Not too bad, like a dinner out at our favorite restaurant Plain – $ (Picnics, watching a movie at home)

What Myspace has taught me – Graphic Design

Oh Myspace, where would I be without you? Although I don’t use myspace anymore, I (like everyone else) used it in Middle School and until sophmore or junior year in highschool. Yes, Myspace had plenty of cons – you could hide your comments and talk crap about people behind their backs and also post up nasty rumors about people. It was where all the drama started. Many funny examples that I personally experienced..which are funny now, but were traumatizing then. Be prepared to read a long post, with lots of graphics and pictures.
