Introducing my apartment in Madrid!

I’ve gotten tons of questions about my apartment in Madrid, how the housing hunt is, how much it costs and where it’s located at….so I thought I would make a blog post about it! The Housing Hunt in Madrid I’ve heard lots of crazy stories (before I came to Madrid) about how horrible and stressful the housing hunt was. Well, I can confirm that it is indeed a crazy experience, especially as someone who doesn’t speak any Spanish. Nada. None. 0. Luckily, I came on August 19th which is before it gets really crazy. Most people rent out their apartments or rooms starting September 1st, so if you came after that…the hunt is even crazier. Here’s why it was difficult for me (specifically). The location of my school I work in Mostoles, this means that to get to my school I have to either take ONE BUS or switch lines 2-3 times. I decided that I wanted to make it easy on myself and just take one bus…this means that I needed to live on …

Madrid vs. Hong Kong

It’s been a little over three weeks since I’ve been in Madrid and I’m having a hard time┬ánot┬ácomparing it to Hong Kong. HONG KONG I studied abroad in Hong Kong in 2014, when I was 22 and had the time of my life. You can read it about it on here (just search Hong Kong). I know it’s not right to compare the two countries because I’m still new to Spain and don’t speak the language, but I thought I would make a list of what I think about Spain so far compared to Hong Kong! Living Expenses …

I moved to Spain!

Hello wordpress! It’s been a long time…I think almost 4 years now. When I first started Dianasadventures, I was still in college and wanted to blog about my adventures in Hong Kong and other countries I’ve traveled to. Now, it’s 2019 – I turned 27 last month and have made a pretty big decision. I moved to Spain! That means, I quit my job – packed my bags, kissed my boyfriend of 7 years goodbye and left. No, I don’t speak Spanish. Yes, I assumed that I would be eating tacos and carne asada fries (I’m more familiar with Asian culture and not European culture…okay?!) And, yes I am definitely missing my family and my friends back home. It wasn’t an easy decision for me. As some of you know, after starting my wordpress blog I became a marketer and started blogging at http://www.thecoffeedate.com which has grown into a large community with over 20K followers. I took a break from that for two years and now am getting back into it. I decided to use …
