A peek inside my hotel

Currently staying at the Y-LOFT in CHAI WAN.  I might be staying here for 5 months but Im not sure yet. I pay about 510 a month so the room is more than 1000  a month for my roomie and I. The place is very nice so I don’t mind paying that much though I wish it were bigger. But, my sister said that this is one of the bigger hotels so I guess I just have to suck it up. The neighborhood is OK, I am surrounded by two shopping malls though (pics up later), so I guess I can’t complain. The reason why I said the neighborhood was OK is because we are very far from everything. We are actually the very last stop on the metro!  It also boasts of a fitness room and an upcoming restaurant. Since I’m up at 2 am everyday I make sure to go and work out as soon as the fitness room opens which is at 8 am . The fitness room is actually only 4 …

What I’m Packing {Makeup}

{Makeup} I have no doubt I’ll be buying lots of makeup in Hong Kong, so for my trip I packed very lightly. These items are items you have already seen from my makeup kit (previous entries); but the newest item that I just bought before I left is the “Big Easy BB cream” from Benefit. Big Easy better than BB cream – Benefit You can read my review on this lovely foundation here

Argan Magic Luxurious Hydration Moisturizer Review

It’s been a while since I was able to review a product, but after running out of my moisturizer I decided to try something new. I usually tend to stay away from scented moisturizers or any moisturizer that claims to do things for your skin as I already use serums and don’t want to overwhelm my skin. But, since I’m out of moisturizer & serum from Makeupartistchoice… I was left with this. In the picture I accidentally put way too much but just put a pea sized amount onto your skin and spread it evenly. I love how it spreads so easily + dries quickly. Also, it doesn’t cause me any breakouts at all and the smell is nice (though if you don’t like scented moisturizers, stay away as it is quite strong). It also doesn’t cause my skin to be oily (and my skin is always oily so that’s a huge plus!).                                              Description • Infuses …

Nekter Juice Cleanse Review

 I got this as a gift for my birthday after hearing many people rave about it, thank you Cuong + Mai! I really didn’t know what to expect except it is pretty pricey, it is 48 dollars for this “classic cleanse”. Many of my friends go on the 3 day cleanse which is a whopping $144 dollars! But, for now – this one day cleanse is good enough.   A lot of work… Reading all the directions and preparation def scared me! It seemed like a lot of work and honestly, I just wanted to get it over with. Be warned, your cleanse will expire (my date was 8/18) so I had to do it before then. Make sure your fridge is cool and shake before drinking!!! The taste Classic Cleanse Drink 1 When I first drank the first sip, I said, “Wow, this isn’t TOO bad.” After drinking it halfway, I just didn’t want to drink it anymore! You can taste the sourness of the lime, and the cucumber and kale takes over most of the flavors. It …

Making the switch to a Self – Hosted WordPress Site

& Why I switched Back I never thought that I would post a blog post about this, but I made up my mind today at 4 A.M. that I was going to switch back to my wordpress.com site after less than a month. Yes, you heard me – less than a month! Of course, I still have my self hosted site up (as I paid for the full year). I am writing this post, not to discourage you from branching out and having your own self hosted blog , but just as a way to show you all what I learned and the Pros & Cons.  View my self hosted site here  Starting Stats Followers: 264 Page Views: 20k+ Monthly views: 5K Now, imagine losing all of that… at the current moment: Followers: 12 Why I wanted to self host I was tired of the “flexibility” that wordpress.com offers. You have themes, but in order to customize they were another $30 dollars. You could buy themes, but they were about 60 – 80 (for the nice ones). If …

Jenna Hip Nail Polishes Review

It’s my birthday!!!  I am officially 22 now! I’ll leave the rest of my makeup + Outfit post until after my birthday dinner which is tonight. Funny thing is, Brandon is planning it! Anyway more details about that probably tomorrow? My parents gave me 200 dollars + my mom gave me nail polish. Is it for me? Or for her store… hmmm.  Jenna Hip is a quite popular brand and I’ve heard plenty of great things about it. I’m so excited to test them out!    8 wonderful colors… now which will I choose to go along with my outfit? Funny thing is, I just realized those two teal colors look very similar… But I guess not. I decided to choose we are mint to me, which I now think was a bad idea since I painted my nails a minty green color last time! Ta Da ! All Done!   The verdict? The color looks great but the application was a bit tedious. My cousin complained that it was too thick and left quite a lot …

My Acne Story

Aren’t you guys lucky? Not only do you guys get to see me pimply, but also my weight gain. Oh well, I don’t care. These pictures are all available on Facebook (the most horrible one is – thanks to my best friend). I never thought in a million years that I would make a post like this, because I never thought I would be comfortable in my own skin. It just didn’t seem possible to me. I made this post to show and tell others that it does get better.. over time.  I’ve struggled with acne around the end of highschool (a little in middle school, but honestly… kids made fun of anyone who had a pimple here and there). I remember looking up posts of Frmheadtotoea nd QiuQiu and marveling at how well their skin turned out. They all suffered from acne and cleared up their skin.I also remember waiting for my skin to get better and hoping that I would grow out of it. After a while, I gave up. I never thought my skin would be …

What I did – 4th of July!

Preparing for the 4th Of July !  Hopefully you guys all had an amazing weekend filled with lots of BBQed food and drinks! Usually, July 4th isn’t that big of a deal for me… my parents and I just spend it at the beach watching fireworks. This year was different, I got to celebrate July 4th with Brandon and it was preeetttyyy amazing! He surprised me by taking me to the Marriott hotel near Disneyland. Our original plans were to go to Disney but our plans got ruined… nonetheless, we had a great night! We ate in, watched some Key & Peele, and had the time of our lives!  Remember my spa water post? Their water was especially tasty. This is the first time we stayed at the Marriott hotel; Brandon usually gets the Hyatt or Holiday Inn. Out of all the hotels I would say this is one of the nicest rooms we’ve gotten (behind the Omni). The price was pretty affordable also. Although the room was really nice, the scenery and surroundings couldn’t compete with …
