Laduree Macarons

I’m going to let you guys in on a little secret… that NO ONE KNOWS, except you guys. Those beautiful and delicious macarons in the photo? Aren’t mine. Those hands holding that beautiful box? Isn’t mine. Basically, I was stupid and did not get any macarons. I got Laduree mixed up with Bottega Louie in LA and refused to spend 36 Euros on a box of macarons! Story Time… Vicky and I decided to go to Laduree on our last night and it was our last stop before heading back home. Vicky didn’t even know what Laduree was and wanted to go since my sister told me to get her some macarons. We walked inside the gorgeous store (there was a little cart outside that sold macarons and icecream) and waited in line. I didn’t understand why there were so many foreigners in line, some were even from LA! When we got to the counter, Vicky asked the guy for the prices. Guy: A pack of 6 will be 18 Euros.  Vicky: So cheap! Me: What the hell, that’s expensive. …

Visiting the Arc De Triomphe in Paris

And finally… we were in Paris! How we got there:  One of the things I love about Europe is that every country is so close together! I can’t even begin to imagine how different my life would be – if I were living in Europe and flying for free. I would probably have gone to 30 countries by now! But, instead I live in California and usually just make a couple of trips a year (if I’m lucky) to fly to Asia. It never interested me to go to Europe until this year, and I really regret that now. To get to Amsterdam, we took the Megabus and that only cost us 12 Euros. Ridiculous or what?! If you’re going by megabus, make sure to buy tickets in advance (the day before might be fine). We didn’t know it would sell out (silly… don’t blame us! We were having too much fun!) and so, when we wanted to buy it day of… it sold out! Our original plan was to catch the bus leaving at midnight so we could get to Paris at …

At the top of the Effiel Tower

At the top of the Effiel Tower Cost: 15 Euros (for elevator) Can you guys believe that I went to see the Effiel tower everyday that I was in Paris?! We got to visit the Effiel tower right after visiting the >> Arc De Triomphe << and it was really easy to get to. Just a quick walk from the subway and we were there. And boy, do I have plenty of stories to tell you guys!  We both wanted to buy keychains, but after seeing that they were about 4 euros at the Arc Souvenir shop, we decided not to buy any souvenirs. Too expensive, I mean who would pay that much for a keychain? So, as we exited the subway we saw an amazing sight.  There was a man, selling 5 keychains for 1 EURO. I kid you not! This man was sprawled on the sidewalk, selling 5 keychains! Vicky & I swooped in and grabbed 10 keychains each and paid him before leaving. He was speaking spanish, japanese, french and english! Talk about a talented salesman! …

Leaving my heart at the Pont Des Arts

Declaring my love at Pont Des Arts Could anything be more dreamier or romantic? I mean, I guess if Brandon went… it would be better hah! But, this was the second most exciting thing we did after the Effiel Tower! We heard that the main bridge for locks was torn down, so this was another place we could go to leave our locks of love. As you can see, it’s pretty popular but there were still some space to put our locks. Of course, I put Diana <3’s Brandon, and don’t worry I’ll be back here with him soon to update it ! We knew we wanted to go here, so we were able to buy our locks at Target, but if you forgot to buy yours… then don’t worry! There are plenty of vendors that are right next to the bridge. Heck, you could even get yours customized if you wanted to!  I took a look around and found some cute locks that I liked. These are pretty cute, and I especially love the “She said yes!” one. What …

Breakfast in Amsterdam

Broodje Bert Singel 321, 1012 WK Amsterdam, Netherlands I had forgotten how horrible food was in Europe (Rome, England), until this trip. Food was so horrible that we actually ate Indian food 3 times in Amsterdam, and even the burgers were bland and lacked flavor. Although Amsterdam is known for their “frites” we just didn’t like them! I much prefer Mcdonalds fries. I know, call me crazy.  And, everything was served on top of a plate of fries!! Example: Lamb meat served on top fries and their idea of a salad is literally two slices of tomato and some sliced onion!  Anyway, we were so glad we stumbled upon this gem even while it was raining. Since the place itself was tiny, we were forced to sit outside which on a normal sunny day would have been perfect for people-watching , but instead it was raining! Vicky & I were seriously craving anything with eggs so we were seriously so excited that sitting in the rain didn’t bother us. We thought the waitress would bring out …

Heineken Experience, Amsterdam

Heineken Experience ! Stadhouderskade 78, 1072 AE Amsterdam,The Netherlands Cost: 18 Euros I’m not much of a museum person, I went to the Picasso museum in France and just didn’t have a fun time. I don’t know why… but I just don’t ever seem to have a great time. So, the Heineken experience was one of the only things I was looking forward to, other than the Anne Frank Museum.  We ended up coming here after seeing the Amsterdam Signs, and because it was rainy it was the perfect time! Luckily, the line wasn’t long at all so we were able to see the exhibit after just waiting about 10 minutes. The guy at the front forgot to give us our wristbands but thankfully, my friend caught it right before we went inside so we were able to grab our wristbands. Don’t forget your wristbands, it entitles you to 2 drinks at the bar.   I really had such a great time at this exhibit – it was pretty big. This is basically the floorplan of what you go through, the first part …

Video of LA Adventures!

and yes, I know the wording is BLURRY! I made the text too small. Also, the video isn’t that great because It was my first time using adobe to edit it instead of Imovie. Huge learning curve if you ask me! I’m going to France & Amsterdam in 2 days!  Sorry for being MIA for such a long time! I have been designing my new blog and guess what? I’ve chosen a new platform! Don’t worry though – I’ll be writing why I chose this platform (squarespace) instead of wordpress! Watch this video in the meantime, and I’ll be back at the end of the Month. I know I know, I’m so behind. end of the month… cause …..I’m going to France & Amsterdam in 2 days!
