How to increase your Instagram Followers

Getting Instagram followers is hard, I should know. I actually made an Instagram for my blog 3 times, and deleted it twice. The last time I deleted my Instagram, I decided to connect my blog with my personal instagram, but I felt like I was spamming my friends so I ended up creating my Instagram 15 weeks ago and have 99 followers. So, what’s the key to getting Instagram followers? I decided to ask Jennifer from jenniferleighg.com what her secret was. Jennifer has 10K+ followers on Instagram.  > Check her out on IG here<  The Interview 1) What is your blog about and why did you start it? I think nearly every blogger has that moment where they ask themselves if they should really start a blog and put themselves out there ; I certainly did, and I’m really happy I made that decision. My blog is a place where I can document my ideas, opinions, and life, all while sharing it with others who may be interested. I started my blog in February of 2015.  It has been live for only a few short months, but already I’ve been …

Photography Tips for Bloggers!

If you’ve been following me since the beginning, you would notice that my photos have gotten a little bit better. Before, I used to just take pictures wherever whenever, but after fixing up my room I realized that the sun reflects quite perfectly on my bed. I began to take photos by placing my items on my bed sheet (white) and snapping photos – the white contrast with the lighting improved my pictures significantly. I have a point and shoot camera, and have recently started playing around with the features. I decided to search for some resources and then I came across a blogger who wrote, “I’ll show you guys some tips… but I’ll leave out some important things because… obviously for reasons.” Well, as a blogger – I don’t want to do that. Blogging may be a source of income for some, but not for me. I want to grow with my readers and help them improve also! Here are a few resources and guides that I have found – pertaining only to Photography.

Tips for New Bloggers

After blogging for more than a year and a half, I decided to compile a list of things I wish I knew earlier on in my blogging journey. I’ve always wondered why people had so much more followers compared to me when they had only been blogging for a month or two. Though some could say that it is content, (cause my blog sucks) others might say that it’s due to how hard they work. To be honest, when I first started blogging the first few months I did practically nothing. Yes, I managed to post about 3 times a week, and I have gone months where I posted everyday, but that was all I did. No interaction, nothing. So, if you’re a new blogger, I hope you can see this list and hopefully learn something that will help you on your journey that we call “blogging.”  Included in the list are some tips that I just recently learned!  1. Find people to follow by using the search tag option. When I first started, for some wild reason I never really took advantage of the sidebar, …

How to code your blog button!

Blogger Tutorials How to Code your Blog Button + Share with your favorite blogs!  Hi guys! Finally back with Part 2 of the blog tutorial! You can read the first part here How to create a blog button / about me . Thank you for all your wonderful comments and “likes”. You guys are amazing! Now, on to the tutorial. Here are a few tips for your blog button. 1. Make sure your button is not too big. I made mine around 250 x 250 px. The reason is that some blogs might not want to add your button if it stretches out their sidebar. You don’t want that now, do you? 2. Make sure you test out your own code. I could not figure out why my code wasn’t working… so I fixed the problem by adding my code to my sidebar and clicking on it. If it didn’t work – I would go and fix the code. It’s really bad if you give someone your code and it doesn’t work. Even if a reader …

Create a blog swap button / about me

If you look to the right of my profile, you should be able to see my Button, along with my favorite bloggers! I have to admit, I got started on the button swap bandwagon very late – I haven’t been going on other blogger’s actual wordpress sites and looking around. But, better late than never right? Swapping buttons with another blogger can be a great way to meet other bloggers and get more views!  Why you should make a Blog “Button” 1. You can direct traffic to your site. If you love reading someone else’s blog, and notice that they have a button on their site then don’t be shy! Ask them to swap a button with you. I love going on a blog and seeing other blogs that they love, most of the time the audience and niche are the same also. So, by having your button on someone else’s site, there’s a good chance that their readers will click on your button also!  2. You can make friends! Having a button means also supporting another blog, …

I never even thought about doing a post like this until Christina  asked me for a tutorial on my “header & widgets”. This post will be photoshop based, but don’t worry! If you guys don’t have photoshop just simply go to the end and seek out the other tutorials I have compiled for you ; they use Pixlr or Picmonkey. First up, you’re going to need a background. You can grab your background from google, or any other source (make sure you read the terms of use). Here is my favorite place to grab anything I can (from brushes, to graphics, to backgrounds) :  Deviantart. Use it, use it, use it! Your life will change.. for the better. To see some brushes or things I get from there, simply check my Credit page! My Example Background  Now, you need to know your header dimensions. How do you check that? Simply, go to Dashboard > APPEARANCE (That paintbrush tool) > Header. It should list the dimensions. {Blogger Tutorials} How to Edit your photos (No Photoshop Needed)

It’s been a while hasn’t it? I know I’ve been putting out alot of reviews and fashion posts, so here’s a post that I think would benefit you guys. As a blogger, I try to find tutorials on how to edit simply because we don’t need all those tips and tricks. We edit just to enhance our photos. Here’s a little mini tutorial for those who have photoshop. If you don’t have photoshop then check below to see other editors! Adjust Brightness & see the difference 1. Simply open up photoshop and find the document you want to edit. After, go to IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST 2. Change your Brightness, sometimes I go 30 (most of the time), if the picture is pretty dark I go 50 (for Brightness). Then, I like to change the contrast to half (depending on how it looks). Brightening really helps your photos, before I didn’t use it as much because I had decent lighting but now, I ALWAYS brighten up my photos no matter what!  It just really makes a …
