Drinking at the highest bar in the world

Ozone – Ritz Carlton 118/F, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong | 1 Austin Road West, Hong Kong, China (West Kowloon) One of the items on Janes bucket list was to go to the highest bar in the world, so having only three weeks left… we decided to go on Wednesday. The Ritz Carlton’s Ozone bar is the highest bar in the world and is located on the 118th floor. The funny thing is, Jane and I didn’t know how to get to the Ritz Carlton so we took the AUSTIN MTR exit instead of the KOWLOON exit – by taking the Austin exit we had to walk about 20 minutes in heels…. so please, take the Kowloon exit.  When we got to the Ritz Carlton, it was so stunning – we all kept exclaiming how nice and fancy it was. We followed a group of people who were looking for the bar and had to switch elevators twice before arriving at our destination. Outside seating was plentiful, but it was sprinkling so we decided to sit inside (missing …

Wednesdays in Hong Kong : Ladies Night

Free drinks for Ladies? In Hong Kong, there are typically two places that people go to grab a drink (well, at least students / foreigners) – Lan Kwai Fong (LKF) or Wan Chai. I drink with my boyfriend, but I wouldn’t say that I am the type to go out and drink at bars and clubs. But, as I’m studying abroad… why not? I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and I am lucky that on Wednesdays.. Ladies drink for free! Make sure you check to see if ladies drink for free as some places start later or simply don’t do it at all!  Now, I’ve only gone to LKF about three times… the first time was for an international student clubbing thing where drinks were free, and the other times were just to grab some drinks at the bars nearby. On other typical days, drinks in LKF will range about 75 bucks for a screwdriver… so I wouldn’t recommend that. Now Wan Chai is cheaper, has more bars/choices and has a younger crowd …

Happy birthday Dat!

It was my friend’s birthday yesterday and he turned the big 21! Since he and my other friend were coming from Universal, they were really hungry. The place we decided to eat and roam around was downtown Disney! I recommended the Jazz Kitchen, but the wait was an hour and a half; so we ended up going to Rainforest Cafe. The wait was only 40 minutes so they chose it. I heard that it was always pricey, but since I never ate there before I really didn’t know how much. Also, everyone told me the food was good… so I had pretty high hopes for this place.  Luckily, there was a live band playing there. My first glimpse at the Rain forest cafe; which is really nice and pretty on the outside but sorry… no pics! If you’re too lazy to read or look through the pictures…  Honestly, I didn’t like Rain Forest Cafe at all… although the meal Brandon & I got was a pretty OK deal (compared to the rest); our bill for basically five people …
