New Year Resolutions 2015

Late to the party, but better late than never! 2014 has been the best year so far. I was able to study abroad, meet wonderful friends who I will always have fond memories with, explore the world and finish an amazing internship. While many of my resolutions have been the same these past few years, this year will be different. I hope I’ll be able to stick to my new year resolutions and finish strong! The list 1. Learn something new. Whether it’s improving on my HTML, or CSS+, it’s always good to learn something new. This year, I have decided to invest in Rosetta stone and learn spanish and improve on my chinese. Instead of learning traditional chinese, I am starting to learn simplified chinese (which is easier to remember). 2. Be more active and healthy. Thanks to studying abroad, I was able to shed a few pounds but after my Rome trip… I gained almost all of it back! I have started to look back into kickboxing lessons and have already emailed some places …

What I’ve been eating.

I’ve been eating oatmeal everyday for the past four days! An accomplishment indeed, especially since I hated oatmeal. Whole wheat pita bread, cilantro and chive yogurt dip, my freshly made oatmeal (maple brown and sugar), PENNYWORTH Juice and Coconut water.  Trader Joe’s Oatmeal & Pure Coconut Water Maple Brown and Sugar Oatmeal: Tastes delicious! Seriously. Although my sister complains that its a bit sweet, add a bit more water into it then! I hate hate hate oatmeal but maybe because I never got the right one… I seriously have cravings for this.  I usually eat two eggs for breakfast, drink some coffee but this makes me feel already full. It does have quite a bit of sugar though…. but it does decent on the other vitamins. Plus, it’s low in calories!  Bubbling after boiling water is poured into it, in about three or four minutes – it’ll be done and perfect! For Lunch, I have one Pita Bread & the Dip. This tastes better than the oatmeal (well, of course) and thanks to the oatmeal – …

Summer Contract !

I have a confession to make… I haven’t gone to the gym ever since school ended! Time for that to change! If you’re sitting on your ass feeling sorry for yourself, get up! Don’t complain, don’t whine… just do it. I decided to make a summer contract for my best friend and I to keep us on track. Grab your best friend and do this also! Of course, you can change the contract to cater to your needs. * Remember, do not cheat – You are only CHEATING YOURSELF by doing that.  Rules  1. Everytime you go to the gym you will get 1 point : Take a picture, send to the other person, and what you did for the day. The other person can request for you to take a picture with something ( to help with cheating).   2. A healthy meal is .5 points. This is only if you MADE this meal yourself.   3. Everytime you miss the gym it is two points. This counts for weekends, etc.   4. Everytime you go …

Summer Detox – SPA WATER

Good Morning Guys! I spent this morning making spa water! If you are following Fitness Gurus or Fitness Instagrams then you should see some pictures like this popping up once in a while.  Usually these water bottles are VOSS water bottles and in all the pictures they are filled with delicious fruits and even mint. I remember reading comments and people going, “Omg, Voss is so expensive!” So I thought, oh… do the water bottles come filled with fruits like that? But of course, now I know they don’t. The reason why people use VOSS is because the water bottles are huge ! I heard that you can get the water bottles from Marshalls or Ross and then just fill them up with veggies, I have yet to try it though. Anyway, whether you’re having fun at a picnic or enjoying the sand beneath your toes don’t forget to hydrate hydrate hydrate. Here are some easy and delightfully yummy Spa Water Inspirations! Strawberries: Strawberries taste delicious and can be found everywhere. They are a great source of Vitamin C, are antioxidants and prevent …

Finally got the Step-up!

Yesterday, after eating an unhealthy meal of Korean BBQ (At red palace), my sister and I witnessed two girls dressed in nothing but their underwear. “What are they wearing?” My sister asked me, but I just shrugged. After two more minutes of driving down the street, we saw about 100 more students in nothing but their underwear and realized CSUF was having their undie run! I was so jealous of everyone because they all had nice bodies (sorry, perv moment.) So I was excited to come home and find out that my step up had arrived!!  I didn’t know how to use the step up until I took cardio class my sophmore year; and even then we didn’t do anything really crazy on it. I finally realized its true potential when we used it for cardio kickboxing, we would jump on it, run around it, step up – kick, and step down. We would (horribly) even do lunges on it. ahhh. I begged my sister to buy it for me a year ago, but she …

Work Out Equipment – Gold Gym’s Weighted Hula Hoop & Jump Rope

My sister headed to Target to find her “Step Up” – something that she has come to love ever since her personal trainer made her do all sorts of things on it. Sadly, Target didn’t have it so we headed to Walmart. After skimming the extensive workout equipment, I saw a Gold Gym’s Weighted Jump Rope and wanted to buy it. My sister on the other hand, saw a Gold Gym’s weight Hula Hoop.   We ended up buying both items, Read below for a mini Review  + Pictures !

Things I’ve learned after gaining 30+ lbs

The heaviest I’ve ever been before this was I’d say 125, and that was after the “freshman 15”. I’m not shy at all about how much weight I’ve gained or even embarrassed because I had a great support system (more on that later). I was always slim throughout my life, thanks to genetics and a very tough exercise plan since I was always playing sports. But, when I gained all this weight I was very confused and sometimes even horrified at how big I had become. I was suddenly scared of trying on clothes, hated looking at myself in the mirror, and didn’t want to go out. I remember going into a fitting room last year and not being able to fit into the size S or even M. I was confused, “How could I not fit this? I swear… I wore something from here last month.” I texted my friends and told them that I had to buy a shirt that was size XL. “What? I didn’t realize you got to that point…” a friend texted back. But, …

Herbalife Review

Sorry for the horrible quality guys. Today, I will be reviewing Herbalife – a product that I used for three months. I am currently not using it at the moment. Anyway, before using Herbalife I had no idea what it was… now, it is very popular and some of my friends actually work as an independent merchandiser for Herbalife. There are also small stores that specifically make these smoothies, and there is one near CSULB called the green room if you guys are interested!  1. Herbalife Herbal Tea Concentrate – Raspberry 2. Herbalife Aloe Concentrate 3. Herbalife Protein Mix + Healthy Meal

3 Favorite Workout Videos !

  1) Fat Burning Cardio Workout – 37 Minutes This is the routine I am doing today! I am really digging this routine because of the “slow” burpees. I am so used to torturing myself by doing burpees during kickboxing that slow burpees are a great way to burn calories but take it easy on your body. I love the soothing voice and the girl in the video always looks so happy and enthusiastic. 37 minutes was pretty tough but like the comments said, “It is totally doable.” 2) Call Me Maybe Might Squat Challenge This blew up a while ago and after watching it you should know why. The song was very popular and the challenge is actually very hard to do. Also, you can see results so quickly! The music helps numb the pain 😛 This is very tiring and I can barely finish it…but you’ll feel amazing when you’re done. 3) Want U Back Arms Challenge As someone who has just started working out, I usually tend to focus on my legs because …
