55% Lactic Acid Chemical Peel Review

This is the ultimate skin saver, I’m upset that I didn’t try chemical peels earlier. Makeup artist’s choice 55% Lactic Acid Chemical Peel Kit has completely changed my life! As you all know, I’m a huge fan of Makeup Artist’s Choice; I fell in love with their Mandelic Acid Toner (read the review HERE) , ended up moving up to the Mandelic Acid Serum (read the review here), and used it in combination with their Retinol serum. Yes, I was a huge fanatic and swore by their products – afterall, they were my holy grail! I carried these 3 essentials with me all the way to Hong Kong, where I dillegently used them everyday. I thought my skincare woes were gone forever, until I went back to the U.S. Suddenly, my skin wasn’t as clear as before and was actually getting worse. I blamed it on California’s weather (but please, our weather is perfect), I blamed it on the oily food I was eating (but I swear, I ate the same oily food back in HK). Basically, I didn’t know why my skin was breaking …

Chocolate Dipped Gelato in Rome

Gelateria Frigidarium Via del Governo Vecchio, 112, 00186 Roma, Italy After the borghese gallery, my sister told me that there was an amazing gelato place that she wanted to take me to. Of course, I was super excited but at the same time pretty iffy. We had already found our favorite gelato place! What could be better? But, trusting tripadvisor, we decided to stop by since it was close to our hotel and the center.    This gelato place had a lot of good things going for it. Not only was in a popular area and near plenty of shops, it was also attractive outside and we noticed quite a few people waiting outside also. There was a young guy working in the front and he was very friendly, even smiling when I went to take a photo of all the delicious flavors. Thanks for not judging me! Unlike the other place that we visited in the beginning, he didn’t seem angry or irritated when I asked for a free sample so that was a plus. It was …

Organic Dandelion Root Tea – Kiss Me Organics!

Organic Dandelion Root Tea – With Hibiscus & Cinnamon Time for another review! Hopefully you guys aren’t too tired of my reviews by now, I know that lately my blog has been filled with so many… but I promise, just a few more reviews and then back to blogging about other things! Now, I don’t know if I’ve mentioned before… but I am not a fan of coffee. I mean, sure, if you follow me on Instagram you’ll see that I occasionally drink coffee – but that’s only if I have a long day ahead of me or if I have a weekend all to myself. I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about people who are so addicted to coffee (aka my sister) and they get headaches if they go a day without coffee. Oh the horror!  Cue to Kiss me Organics! They have an all natural & organic Dandelion Root Tea that is also infused with Hibiscus & Cinnamon! Now, I love love love tea! If you haven’t noticed, I’ve tried both the Herbalife Tea & Tiny Tea; but …

Pura d’or Hair & Body Care Review

Pura d’or Hair & Body Care Review This was seriously a gift from the heavens! I was so excited when I was gifted three products from  Pura d’or Hair & Body Care. My hair has been falling out so much that my sister told me that she noticed it was thinning. At 22 years old, that’s something that you don’t want to hear. Actually, that’s something that no one wants to hear! We always seem to spend more time on our skin but we need to realize that hair care is also very important.  I was given three items: Organic Argan Oil Based Hair Loss Prevention Shampoo – This shampoo is free from harsh chemicals that are the leading cause of hair conditions. It prevents hair loss, strengthens hair and adds volume! Organic Argan Oil Based Conditioner – This conditioner adds shine and manages frizz. Pure and Organic Argan Oil – can be used for your body, face, and hair. The benefits of Argan Oil are numerous! On To The Review! Let’s start with my favorite, the all organic …

Lush Father Christmas Bath Bomb Review

Lush Father Christmas Bath Bomb Review This is my first bathbomb EVER. So, of course I had high expectations. See Santa? Well, he’s from Rome. That’s right… I bought my bathbomb from Rome because it was basically half off and so cheap that I just had to buy it! Even though he was half off, he was still a bit expensive so I was saving him for a special occasion. When Valentines day came, I took him out from the shelf that he had been sitting on for one long month and brought him along with me to the hotel room.  Excuse the chipped nails . So, after drawing a bath – I threw him in. Watching my first ever bathbomb fizzle was such an incredible feeling (weird? I know). Now, while he was fizzing away sorry santa! I kept on imagining all the great things that would come from this $7 dollar bathbomb. Would my skin glow? Would I feel great and smell great? Would my skin be smooth and moisturized?   Second time I took it out..

Avenue of the Arts – VDay Weekend

This valentines, things went a little different. Brandon asked me a few days before Valentines Day if I thought we “overdo” things.“Overdo things? I don’t think so… it’s not like we go all out.” I replied. But, a quick look through our past valentines day revealed a different story. Valentines Day in SF 2014  : We flew out first class to San Francisco and stayed at the Hyatt, which is Brandon’s favorite hotel so far. Plus, plenty of gift giving also. So, after glancing at the previous post, we decided to tone it down a little bit this year. We stayed at a nice hotel, I gave Brandon a Robe + Lucky Brand Belt and he treated me out the whole weekend to yummy restaurants.  Anyway, on to the hotel review! If you’ve been following me for quite some time, you should know that I appreciate a great hotel. I love spacious rooms, a great view (rarely get a great view actually), quiet surroundings, and overall great customer service. Avenue of the Arts hotel was actually one of the best hotels I’ve ever …

Suzuki Cafe Company 鈴木珈啡館

Suzuki Cafe Company   Shop L407, 4/F, The ONE, 100 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui For Jane and I’s last meal together, I was debating between Cafe Habitu or another place that was near the avenue of stars (overlooking the harbor). I meant to send her the two different websites so she could browse the menu, but I made a mistake and sent the Cafe Habitu website to her twice… so we decided to just meet up there. Cafe Habitu is located in THE ONE shopping mall in TST; but after trying to find it for a while we gave up and chose Cafe Suzuki. We chose it out of plenty of other restaurants because it looked inexpensive, there was a dinner set, and they had just completed their outside patio. Sadly, it was raining that day so we were not able to sit outside, and the view was blocked… but it wasn’t too bad as the restaurant , itself, was very cute and classy.  The Menu Click here to see the full menu  What we ordered:   …

Mong Kok Food Diaries : Ocio Dessert

MK FOOD DIARIES: Dessert @ Ocio Shop 5, G/F, Tsui Yuen Mansion, Phase2, 2-20 Kwong Wa Street ,Mong Kok 旺角廣華街2-20號翠園大廈二期地下5號鋪 https://www.facebook.com/OCIOKITCHEN It was very hard for me to find a good dessert place in Hong Kong, I just grew accustomed to eating the hot fudge sundae and calling that “dessert”. Thanks to Sham’s friend, we were introduced to Ocio! Lucky for me, it’s close to my hostel so we made sure to visit it another time before I left.  On the outside, it looks quite plain and small but inside it was so cozy and homey! Everytime we went, there were these two men working and their service was quite good. Our water cups were always full and they were more than happy to explain the menu to us! I liked them so much that I followed them on Instagram and now on Facebook (where I got the first picture from).  I really wanted to take Jane here for our last meal together, but decided on something else at the last minute. Ocio also carries …

BLT BURGER Review TST

BLT BURGER, TST Shop OT301-301A, 3/F, Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, 17 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui For Tom’s last dinner in Hong Kong we decided to head to TST and eat at BLT BURGER. Since Tom had no clue where he wanted to go, Rachel took it upon herself to find a restaurant that took AMEX (for me), had vegetarian food (for Tom) and Western food. We wanted to go somewhere nice, so we all agreed on choosing TST. Now, I’ve ate at 2 other burger places : The Diner and BURGEROOM (twice) and out of all of them… I think BLT Burger was my favorite. They are all around the same price, but I love BLT BURGER because 1. It is in a better area (larger), 2. It has a great all day burger combo deal, and 3. It tastes better and has more options when it comes to food.  Out of all three restaurants… I think the DINER is the worst one.  Click below for more food pictures + All day Burger Combo Pic

Spending the day in MACAU

Why I had to go to Macau Many exchange students and people who have not gotten their visa’s validated are required to leave the country (Hong Kong) and come back in through immigration to get it stamped. I was recommended to go to Macau by my school; I was really nervous because I thought I would have to make the trip alone but while waiting in line, I made a new friend : Jane. Me & Jane decided that we were going to Macau together after one day of meeting each other and it was the best decision ever! We have now become best friends 🙂 How to get to Macau from Hong Kong Getting to Macau was very easy and hassle free. We had to board the turbo jet, there are two locations : Sheung Wan or TST. My friend and I opted to take the TST way. The trip will cost roughly about 50 USD dollars and it will take one hour to get to Macau. The boat was a bit more fancy …
