55% Lactic Acid Chemical Peel Review

This is the ultimate skin saver, I’m upset that I didn’t try chemical peels earlier. Makeup artist’s choice 55% Lactic Acid Chemical Peel Kit has completely changed my life! As you all know, I’m a huge fan of Makeup Artist’s Choice; I fell in love with their Mandelic Acid Toner (read the review HERE) , ended up moving up to the Mandelic Acid Serum (read the review here), and used it in combination with their Retinol serum. Yes, I was a huge fanatic and swore by their products – afterall, they were my holy grail! I carried these 3 essentials with me all the way to Hong Kong, where I dillegently used them everyday. I thought my skincare woes were gone forever, until I went back to the U.S. Suddenly, my skin wasn’t as clear as before and was actually getting worse. I blamed it on California’s weather (but please, our weather is perfect), I blamed it on the oily food I was eating (but I swear, I ate the same oily food back in HK). Basically, I didn’t know why my skin was breaking …

Youth Glow Eye Gel Review

Go Pure – Youth Glow Eye Gel Review

I’m only 22 and I’ve never used eye cream before. My motto before was always, “Don’t fix what isn’t broken, what’s natural is the best.” But now that I’m getting older, I realize that isn’t always the case. Eye cream is very important, afterall your eyes show your real age. I’m always worried that I’ll have wrinkles around my eyes, or dark eye circles… well thanks to Go Pure – Youth Eye Gel Review I don’t have to worry anymore! What I love about this product is that it is 100% NATURAL! Now, I’m a sucker for anything natural so I was so excited to try it out. It contains natural ingredients such as:  Plant Stem Cells Hyaluronic Acid Vitamin C Jojoba Oil Vitamin E and a Proprietary Peptide Complex and what’s great about the ingredient list is that I know about most of the products! Vitamin E is great for scarring. Jojoba oil is great for adding moisture. Hyaluronic plumps up your skin and helps with collagen. That’s just off the top of my head. All about the application Since this was …

Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum Review

Vitamin C Serum for Face 20% With Vitamin E & Hyaluronic Acid I’m a huge fan of serums. If you have been following my skincare routine, I have been using makeupartist choice’s mandelic acid serum for 2 years now. But, with almost all skincare products – your skin hits a plateau after a while. So, I was on the lookout for a new serum that could help me achieve healthy, glowing skin. So, when I was sent a bottle of Amara Organic’s Vitamin C Serum , I was overjoyed! Afterall, everyone knows the benefits of Vitamin C. Their site claims that, “Forget the facelift, lasers, and chemical peels! Vitamin C has been shown to be just as effective at reversing the effects of time and environmental damage to the skin.” and also… Increases the production of collagen to bring back skin’s natural elasticity and counteract fine lines and wrinkles Powerful antioxidant properties neutralize free radicals to reverse damage caused by the sun, pollutants, and cigarette smoke Protects your skin from UV damage such as age spots, …

Winter Scrubs

In case you guys haven’t noticed… I’m back in Cali and am missing Hong Kong terribly. There’s one thing I don’t miss though – the crazy weather. Since coming back home, I’ve been undoing all the damage that has befallen it last month… thanks to the crazy stress of having finals a month early and the unpredictable weather… it’s safe to say that I’ve been looking like a train wreck all of November and most of December.  Read below for a mini review !

MASK OF MAGNAMINTY – LUSH

MASK OF MAGNAMINTY – LUSH My first real LUSH purchase! Oh, I was so excited when I was in Langham Place and was able to finally visit a LUSH shop after having extra money. As you know, I’ve only been in Hong Kong for about a week now and my skin has been pretty horrible. I blamed it on the airplane trip, and all the food I ate while in America but there seems to be another culprit: my vitamins. More on that later. I was able to buy this for 100 HKD and was given plenty of samples. I was given all those cleanses and moisturizer samples along with three cleansing bars. My friend, Rachel, who didn’t even buy anything got the same amount of samples but they were shampoo and conditioners. Mask of Magnaminty isn’t technically a daily ‘facial wash’; it’s actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads …

What I’m Packing {Makeup}

{Makeup} I have no doubt I’ll be buying lots of makeup in Hong Kong, so for my trip I packed very lightly. These items are items you have already seen from my makeup kit (previous entries); but the newest item that I just bought before I left is the “Big Easy BB cream” from Benefit. Big Easy better than BB cream – Benefit You can read my review on this lovely foundation here

My Acne Story

Aren’t you guys lucky? Not only do you guys get to see me pimply, but also my weight gain. Oh well, I don’t care. These pictures are all available on Facebook (the most horrible one is – thanks to my best friend). I never thought in a million years that I would make a post like this, because I never thought I would be comfortable in my own skin. It just didn’t seem possible to me. I made this post to show and tell others that it does get better.. over time.  I’ve struggled with acne around the end of highschool (a little in middle school, but honestly… kids made fun of anyone who had a pimple here and there). I remember looking up posts of Frmheadtotoea nd QiuQiu and marveling at how well their skin turned out. They all suffered from acne and cleared up their skin.I also remember waiting for my skin to get better and hoping that I would grow out of it. After a while, I gave up. I never thought my skin would be …

D.I.Y Aloe Vera Mask

I like Aloe Vera; unsurprisingly I use it more during the summer than any other season. Why? Because I am prone to sunburns! If you’ve been forgetting your sunscreen and need something to help soothe those red rashes or burns, then Aloe Vera is perfect for you. It’s no wonder many companies sell Aloe Vera “Aftersun” Gel. So, how is Aloe Vera great for your skin? Aloe vera has plenty of vitamins, etc but for the purpose of this post I will focus only on its skin benefits. It’s great for healing burns or scars; relieves itching and soothes skin (which is why it’s used to treat sunburns), and it’s also 99% water so that means its very moisturizing for your skin! It also reduces inflammation.  I was tired of all the other Aloe Vera gels that I was buying, it had too many chemicals in it and didn’t work as well – so luckily my parents began to plant Aloe Vera in our backyard!  I actually have some more in the front yard. Here is 3 next …

Favorite Makeup Essentials!

Favorite Makeup Essentials I’m really big on simple makeup because I find it especially hard to find makeup that goes well with my skintone. I try to stay away from dark eyeshadows and smokey eyes. Here are a few of my favorite makeup essentials!  Foundations & Primer Left to Right: Egyptian Magic Cream, Napoleon Perdis spray foundation, BB Cream, Foundation & eyeshadow primer. I just added the egyptian magic cream because I used it as a moisturizer yesterday when I applied my makeup 🙂  Really love this spray; it works especially well for my skin and for that I’m thankful. I use it when I want pretty light coverage as it doesn’t make my skin feel heavy. But, if I’m going to Vegas then I’ll put on foundation and put this over it. I use this most of the time, hence why it is all used up. I really love this although it is quite pricey but lasts a really long time. The coverage is heavy and it doesn’t make my face look like an …

Olivia Care Hand Cream

Olivia Care Hand Cream My cousin gave this to me the other day and although I rarely use hand cream (I have sweaty palms), I tried it and it smelled great! Not too strong and not too light. I tried to find a picture of where it came from, but I skimmed Olivia Care and didn’t see a picture of it. I have never heard of this brand before but the website looks very nice and isn’t too flashy – maybe in the future, I’ll buy one of their soaps here.  Love the packaging, it’s so simple yet so nice!
