How to increase your Instagram Followers

Getting Instagram followers is hard, I should know. I actually made an Instagram for my blog 3 times, and deleted it twice. The last time I deleted my Instagram, I decided to connect my blog with my personal instagram, but I felt like I was spamming my friends so I ended up creating my Instagram 15 weeks ago and have 99 followers. So, what’s the key to getting Instagram followers? I decided to ask Jennifer from jenniferleighg.com what her secret was. Jennifer has 10K+ followers on Instagram.  > Check her out on IG here<  The Interview 1) What is your blog about and why did you start it? I think nearly every blogger has that moment where they ask themselves if they should really start a blog and put themselves out there ; I certainly did, and I’m really happy I made that decision. My blog is a place where I can document my ideas, opinions, and life, all while sharing it with others who may be interested. I started my blog in February of 2015.  It has been live for only a few short months, but already I’ve been …

Photography Tips for Bloggers!

If you’ve been following me since the beginning, you would notice that my photos have gotten a little bit better. Before, I used to just take pictures wherever whenever, but after fixing up my room I realized that the sun reflects quite perfectly on my bed. I began to take photos by placing my items on my bed sheet (white) and snapping photos – the white contrast with the lighting improved my pictures significantly. I have a point and shoot camera, and have recently started playing around with the features. I decided to search for some resources and then I came across a blogger who wrote, “I’ll show you guys some tips… but I’ll leave out some important things because… obviously for reasons.” Well, as a blogger – I don’t want to do that. Blogging may be a source of income for some, but not for me. I want to grow with my readers and help them improve also! Here are a few resources and guides that I have found – pertaining only to Photography.

Tips for New Bloggers

After blogging for more than a year and a half, I decided to compile a list of things I wish I knew earlier on in my blogging journey. I’ve always wondered why people had so much more followers compared to me when they had only been blogging for a month or two. Though some could say that it is content, (cause my blog sucks) others might say that it’s due to how hard they work. To be honest, when I first started blogging the first few months I did practically nothing. Yes, I managed to post about 3 times a week, and I have gone months where I posted everyday, but that was all I did. No interaction, nothing. So, if you’re a new blogger, I hope you can see this list and hopefully learn something that will help you on your journey that we call “blogging.”  Included in the list are some tips that I just recently learned!  1. Find people to follow by using the search tag option. When I first started, for some wild reason I never really took advantage of the sidebar, …

If you guys have been following my pictures on Instagram, you guys can see that they have significantly improved. Here are a few of my newer Instagram Photos. Some of these tips can be applied to regular photographs that you will upload onto your blog. Below will be what some other bloggers use to improve their pictures, whether it’s APPS for your phone, photography tips, or even software that you can download onto your computer. What I use  Gramblr – Gramblr is pretty great. I download it onto my computer. Biggest benefit? I am able to take photos with my camera which results in higher quality photos and better editing due to photoshop. What I dislike about it is the fact that every photo has to be : 650 x 650 and that I can’t have a long caption.  Tips From Fashion Bloggers Check out what these other popular bloggers use! 1. Blogger Tutorial | Easy Header + Make a Pattern

I never even thought about doing a post like this until Christina  asked me for a tutorial on my “header & widgets”. This post will be photoshop based, but don’t worry! If you guys don’t have photoshop just simply go to the end and seek out the other tutorials I have compiled for you ; they use Pixlr or Picmonkey. First up, you’re going to need a background. You can grab your background from google, or any other source (make sure you read the terms of use). Here is my favorite place to grab anything I can (from brushes, to graphics, to backgrounds) :  Deviantart. Use it, use it, use it! Your life will change.. for the better. To see some brushes or things I get from there, simply check my Credit page! My Example Background  Now, you need to know your header dimensions. How do you check that? Simply, go to Dashboard > APPEARANCE (That paintbrush tool) > Header. It should list the dimensions.
